Joe Rosina has been a fixture on Parramatta Road since opening
in 1964. For forty years his salon, fitted out in the style
of a shoe-repair shop, has been home to men lost to the beauty
industry, his trademark no-fuss haircuts proving popular amongst
an otherwise committed DIY crowd. If you fell through a vanity
mirror, the world on the other side would be Joe's
Joe
retired last week. Here he's performing the final cut on shipwright,
Ken Clarke. Both men have known each other since Ken walked
in off the street four decades ago becoming Joe's first client.
Witnessing the last trim were other regulars, John, John and
Alf. The occation was followed with beer and Joe's home-made
Lemongela.
Joe's
tireless work at the outer limits of vanity will be sorely missed.
